What we like

The Compose SDK is the modern heart of the offer — a code-first, React-friendly way to build charts and analytics into your product using your own components and design system, rather than wrestling iframes. That respects how product engineering actually works in a way older embedded BI never did. Multi-tenant security, white-labeling, and row-level controls are mature, which matters enormously when every customer must see only their own data. The platform handles scale credibly via live models and its ElastiCube in-memory approach, and the AI layer — natural-language queries, forecasting, automated insight explanations — gives product teams headline features to ship without building an ML stack.

Where it falls short

Everything about buying and running Sisense is heavyweight. Pricing is negotiated, opaque, and generally lands in tens-of-thousands-per-year territory, which makes evaluation awkward and small-company adoption unrealistic. Implementation is an engineering project measured in months, not a weekend integration. And as a purely internal BI tool it is unremarkable — analysts prefer Tableau or Power BI's ergonomics, so buying Sisense only makes sense when embedding is the job.

Verdict

For SaaS companies whose customers demand real analytics inside the product, Sisense is a strong, proven choice — the Compose SDK in particular is among the best developer experiences in embedded BI. Buy it when analytics is a revenue feature you are selling. For internal reporting or budget-constrained teams, look elsewhere; this platform's economics only work when dashboards make you money.
